Listening to: Bad Religion - Generator

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh! Oh yeah! Oh-oh yeah! Big blender day today, so Bad Religion is perfect. All evening, in between Wolves and Wild playoff games. That’s right; I am from Minnesota, USA, and I root for my teams with great passion. I have yet to witness a championship in any of the four major sports (hockey, basketball, football, and baseball). Not even a finals APPEARANCE.

Perhaps the Wild, who look good despite being down 2-1 in the series, can go all the way this year; the Wolves can definitely get past Denver in the first round, but I am less confident about them facing a stacked OKC or a Wemby-led San Antonio team. Our squad is very good as well, and I would cheer them on no matter what.

Edit Wild win in OT!!!! What a tip-in by Matt Boldy! Wolves look good nearing the half; Naz Reid playing particularly well and ohhhh noooo Anthony Edwards is hobbling off the court. Oh NO. I hope he is okay.

Edit Ant is out for the game but the Wolves are playing really well with Ayo Dosunmu leading the way with a career-high 43(!). what an overall great day. My teams won and PJCC took a huge leap forward. Princess has some color, the sea scene has some sea, and the website looks cleeean. I’m going to try and plant some easter eggs in there, too.

What I worked on:

  • Lots of Blender. I created a dog structure! Kennie says it kind of looks like Catdog, lol. The idea is to just get something I can use for now, and I will detail it later
    • Then I will have a master Princess file that I will link into my scenes, and any updates to her will automatically pull through! Very cool.

What’s next:

  • Well it’s still early on a Saturday and my early errand-running is done and so is my nice walk with a friend (and of course Princess). I hope to get the sea scene started, since I have a block of time to work
    • A few weeks ago I built a basic chessboard in Blender that uses a sine/cosine wave function (using Python code). It moves as if on water, so the idea to me is/was obvious: Build a Sea Chessboard. There’s a sea that separates Checker Town and Chess City, so weave that into the storytelling.
      • Maybe Nate gets seasick, let’s plant that early in the story.
      • Princess needs a way to gain equity as a chess player, so that is a perfect opportunity (I’m thinking the chess games are in a battle-room style, like Ender’s Game sort of. Maybe there is a gamepad or similar device that is used, that Princess can learn to control)
    • And, importantly, a quick five-second sea animation, with cool aquatic themed pieces, is PERFECT for a portion of a thirty-second trailer, which is one of my early goals

These are lofty goals, but it’s important to aim high. Even if you miss, that trajection is still a foundation to build off of later. Besides, a healthy level of delusion has always kinda been my signature trait.
